Improvements to data import tool (coming soon)

The team are working hard on a number of important improvements to the historic data import tool, to allow you to more easily bring across your historic records into NatureMapr.

Thanks to support from the NSW BCT, some of the improvements coming shortly include:

  • Ability to import sightings as "pre verified" if trusted and verified by an expert moderator or verified government officer.
  • Ability to upload a previous ecological report or survey in PDF format which can be used as a source of evidence to support the verification of historic records.
(This is essentially an extension to the existing "verify by" function allowing moderators to input a formal specimen from a herbarium or collection such as ANIC etc)
  • Ability to directly import (some) data files exported from other platforms.
  • Bug fix: improvements to date/time handling of imported records.

There are quite a few users who have requested the import of their important historical records and as a result, we plan to make these improvements available to the NatureMapr community ASAP.

Thanks everybody for your patience and important contributions.
