Not enough features evident to take Myriophyllum down to species.

Emergent leaves pectinate, consistently whorled and green rather than glaucous or red makes a good case for M.alpinum no? I would expect that species at this location.

I have reservations because: Myriophyllum alpinum has emergent leaves in whorls of 3 or 4 , and are reddish ( Plant net ). I can’t see whorl number clearly but it looks more rather than few ( like 3 ).

I'm not sure that the colour of the foliage is diagnostic (i'm using Vicflora). It seems to me that M.alpinum will often have greenish foliage, at least based on previous CNM ID's. I agree that it's difficult to identify the whorl number, but the emergent leaves are so congested at the stem tips that I'm not sure I would say we can lean to saying that there are more rather than few. Congested leaf tips are listed in the key as a supporting feature of M.alpinum in Vicflora.
